How to Clean Cloudy Wine Glasses
There's nothing that detracts from the enjoyment of fine wine like drinking it from a cloudy wine glass. Wine glasses should always be sparkling clear, especially if you are serving wine to guests.
Unfortunately, it's easy for even the best crystal stemware to develop a foggy look that is hard to remove once it has "set." The best course is to keep this from happening in the first place. But if you already have foggy wine glasses, there are things you can do to clear them up.
It should go without saying that you must always wash good crystal, including wine glasses, by hand, never in the dishwasher. Dishwashers get very hot, which is not good for crystal--it can cause it to develop fine cracks. Also, dishwasher detergent can "rough up" glass surfaces. Both of these can lead to a cloudy look over time.
When hand washing your wine glasses, use warm--not hot--water and regular dish detergent. Adding a little vinegar to the water will help keep the glasses from fogging.
If you have taken good care of your wine glasses, including washing them as described above, and they have developed a cloudy appearance anyway, it could be due to the condition of your water supply. Hard water in particular is prone to imparting a foggy film to crystal.
To remove cloudiness from glassware, soak the pieces in straight white vinegar for an hour or two. Then, hand wash normally and dry using a lint-free cloth. You might have to repeat the process two or three times before you can get all of the filminess off, but you'll agree it's worth it when your wine glasses sparkle again.

Bas Armagnac du Chateau de Lacaze
Armagnac is one of the most elegant after dinner spirits in the world. The best Armagnac comes from Bas Armagnac, or "lower Armagnac." Most Armagnac today is blended from different vintages, but some of the older vintage Armagnacs can still be found. Aged in "black oak of Monlezun," which is one of the rarest oaks, this French Cognac offers wonderful flavors of toast and vanilla. Its finish is classic Armagnac - smooth, long and full of caramel. We have a limited quantity of this fine spirit so do not hesitate! Great gift for any occasion! BACL82 BACL82

Britain's Got Semi-Talent

And, so, to Fountain Studios in Wembley for a seat behind the judges at a live semi-final of Britain's Got Talent. What an extraordinary experience. I have dipped into the series since a night of undiluted hilarity at the auditions in Hackney, so the thought of some more live action was an easy lure. A glass of pink champagne backstage got me in the mood for Simon, Piers and Amanda, and, boy, do you need some happy fuel to attend these shows; the crew get you clapping and on your feet consta
No more complaints - I'm at Casa Mono
Wed, 28 May 2008 09:44:27 PDT
There are, what, five million restaurants in New York City? So I am not about to make any claims about primacy or Top Tens, or even greatness. Instead, let me make my case for Casa Mono thusly: I have my family in New York and the only restaurant at which I've made reservations is Casa Mono. Why? Because chef Andy Nusser's food is marvelous, because manager Nancy Selzer's wine list is so smart, and perhaps just because it's a place with a wonderful feel. I'm here for jamon iberico; I have an ad
